How much do you know about VIVISECTION ?

Vivisection: from Latin vivus ("alive") + sectio ("cutting")rat

Vivisection is the practice of using live animals for experimentation. It is in fact a multi-billion dollar global industry and is deliberately hidden away from the public eye to avoid unwanted scrutiny. The numbers of animals used are enormous. For example, a small country like Australia uses approximately 7 million animals each year. Animal experimentation has been implicated in fraudulent medical research, inhumane teaching methods, as well as the unethical testing of drugs, weapons, household products and cosmetics.

Below you will find a list of links where you can learn more about the scientific and ethical reasons why vivisection should not be practiced, as well as the humane alternatives that exist for scientists, consumers, and also for students at all levels of education. If vivisection is a topic that you are unfamiliar with, please inform yourself by watching the video for the song "May The End Come Soon" and by exploring the links listed below.

May The End Come Soon

Song / Video runs for approximately three minutes. It can be viewed and downloaded, free of charge, from this link: "May The End Come Soon". Please note that the images are graphic and may distress some viewers.       Thank you to Mike Metzger for creating the video, and Andy Weigel for hosting it on his website.
