Canine Cookies

Ingredients:

1 cup wholemeal plain flour

1 cup quick cooking oats

1/4 cup fine cornmeal

1 tablespoon flax seeds

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 cup hot water

1 tablespoon Vegemite

Method:

Place all dry ingredients into a mixing bowl. Dissolve the Vegemite in the hot water, then stir this liquid into the dry ingredients. Combine well, and form the mixture into a dough, adding a little more water if needed. Roll the dough out onto a lightly floured board to a thickness of 5mm and cut the dough into shapes using a cookie cutter. Place your cookies onto a lightly greased baking tray and bake for 15 – 18 minutes in a moderate oven (180 degrees). When cool, store in an airtight container. We haven’t met a dog yet who doesn’t love these cookies!

Pony Muffins

1 cup flour

1 cup wheatgerm

1/2 cup oatbran

1 apple, grated

1 tablespoon molasses

1/2 cup hot water

1/2 cup sultanas

Method:

Melt molasses in the hot water, then add to all other ingredients.

Mix well and spoon the batter into 8 holes of a 12-hole muffin tray.

Bake for 15 minutes at 180 degrees. Store in an airtight container.
